In 2010 CCTV Wales took over the contract for the Arriva Train Wales networks covering all the intruder alarm systems and ticket offices. The company wanted to employ the services of a Welsh company which offered a personal and responsive service at a good price.
CCTV Wales immediately upgraded all of Arriva Trains’ alarm panels to enable remote access to all sites with a dial in facility for instant repairs and changes. This enhancement means that Arriva staff no longer have to wait hours for an engineer to turn up to rectify faults or carry out repairs. This in turn saves the company in terms of labour costs as staff no longer had to stay on site to wait for the engineer.
Other initiatives that CCTV Wales have put in place include an upgrade to make sure all 50 plus Arriva Train Stations are now on immediate police response and the integration of intruder alarm and access control into one system in the station café depots.
The fact that CCTV Wales has retained and continues to develop this contract over the past six years is testament to the positive business relationship developed with Arriva Trains Wales.
